PROFESSOR AMR RAHEEM

Professor Raheem is one of the world's foremost authorities on male infertility, being one of a few consultants worldwide who solely specialize in this field. With over 23 years of dedicated clinical experience, he offers unparalleled expertise in the surgical, medical, hormonal and psychological treatments for male reproductive health.

As a distinguished Professor at Cairo University Hospital and former Senior lecturer at University College London Hospital, Professor Raheem has performed more surgical and microsurgical procedures in male infertility than any other doctor in Europe.

He has successfully helped thousands of patients worldwide to conceive and he revolutionized treatment-approaches for infertile men during his tenure with the NHS. His deep understanding of the emotional impact of infertility drives him to provide flexible, personalized treatment plans within a compassionate and supportive environment. Professor Raheem is a key opinion leader in this field with over 80 publications in high-impact international journals along with presenting at numerous congresses worldwide. Furthermore, he has trained many doctors globally, further advancing the field of male infertility.

Professor Raheem developed the joint fertility clinic initiative at UCLH by establishing a joint collaboration between andrology/gynaecology/embryology departments in a single clinic setting which allowed infertile couples to access a comprehensive service for both the male-factor and female-factor infertility under one roof (the alternative would have been months of waiting for interdepartmental referrals and the joint fertility clinic still operates at UCLH to this day). He also improved the efficacy of the service model for male patients with azoospermia thereby significantly cutting out unnecessary waiting times for patients. He developed an algorithmic model to predict the factors for successful sperm retrieval in cases of azoospermia and proposed alternative treatment options other than IVF (the latter had hitherto been the only option in such scenarios).
