Expert Male Fertility Diagnosis & Treatment with Professor Amr Raheem
Professor Amr Raheem is a London-based consultant andrologist with a particular focus on male fertility. A Professor at Cairo University and former Senior Lecturer at UCL, he has a wider practice spanning the full range of men's health — hormonal and testosterone health, erectile and sexual function, and Peyronie's disease — and over more than 25 years has helped thousands of men and couples worldwide to conceive, bringing surgical, microsurgical, hormonal, medical and psychological care together in a single approach.
He understands that infertility is rarely just a medical problem. His deep awareness of its emotional impact drives him to provide flexible, personalised treatment plans built around clear answers and realistic options, in a calm and compassionate environment rather than along a fixed pathway.
What sets his care apart
-
Fertility expertise built over decades. Male infertility has been at the centre of his work for more than 25 years — the complex cases other clinics see only occasionally, such as non-obstructive azoospermia and redo surgery, are routine here. That depth produces sharper judgement and better outcomes.
-
The whole pathway with one clinician. Diagnosis, surgery and microsurgery, hormonal and medical management, and follow-up all stay with one person rather than being handed between specialists. You explain your story once, and the plan stays consistent from first consultation to outcome.
-
One-stop couples' clinic. At UCLH he established the joint fertility clinic, where andrology, gynaecology and embryology see couples together in a single visit. Instead of months of referrals back and forth between departments, both partners are assessed side by side and a shared plan is agreed in one place. The clinic still runs today.
-
Faster, clearer answers for azoospermia. For men with no sperm in the ejaculate, he redesigned the pathway and developed a model that predicts who is likely to have sperm successfully retrieved at surgery and who is a candidate for microsurgical reconstruction. That makes counselling more honest and specific, and in many cases opens options beyond IVF that weren't previously offered. Fast-tracking the service also cut long waiting times and saved the NHS valuable clinic and theatre capacity.
-
A plan made around you. No two couples get the same protocol — the plan reflects your diagnosis, your priorities and how far you want to go with treatment. The emotional weight of infertility is treated as part of the care, not an afterthought.
-
Internationally recognised. 150+ publications in international journals, an invited speaker at congresses worldwide, and a trainer of fertility specialists across the world.
